8 May 2009: In their second engagement with The Enemy, elements of 1st Company, 1st Battalion, along with their Space Marine allies, fought a brutal and narrowly victorious pitched battle against Chaos Marines. The fierce fighting was often hand to hand and the enemy deployed many tanks and armored personnel carriers, of which virtually all were destroyed! Our casualties were 8 KIA infantry, 10 WIA and then medically discharged infantry, and 4 WIA infantry who were returned to action. Also, 3 KIA crewmen, 1 Medically discharged crewman, and 2 WIA crewmen of heavy weapons who were returned to action. The single Leman Russ Battle Tank that was present was immobilized and its heavy guns were knocked out, yet we salvaged and repaired it and the 2 WIA crewmen were returned to action.
