18 December 2009:  Much of 3^rd Company, 2^nd Battalion, under Captain Cavanaugh, has been suddenly destroyed by Chaos Warp Spawn in a freak raid.  The troops were guarding a fortress behind the main siege lines around planet Aurignac's capital city of Thursee, where the Tau continue to hold out behind their energy shield while under constant shelling.  We lost 2 Leman Russ tanks and most of our heavy weapons as well as most of 2^nd and 3^rd platoons.  Survivors included 1 man who salvaged an Auto-cannon, several infantrymen, and the Company's Vendetta Gunship minus its Sturmtruppen compliment.  We managed to inflict heavy losses on the Enemy though it has been discovered that many of the late Captain Cavanaugh's troops, including sentries from the late Lieutenant Novak's 3^rd Platoon, were drunk at the time of the attack.  Henceforth, drunkenness shall be punishable by a severe beating by the offending trooper's comrades, who, if they do not beat the drunkard with sufficient violence, shall also suffer a severe beating.  “Courage, Duty, and Discipline!”
