15 to 16 October 2009:  A strike force of Chaos Space Marines suddenly appeared from the Warp, as well as Chaos Warp Spawn.  They overwhelmed and destroyed 1^st Company, 3^rd Battalion, then left.  Navy scanners show no further signs of the Chaos taint.  Captain Kirkeby died in the fighting on the 15^th and Lieutenant Ernst took command, then died fighting on the 16^th.  The remnants of the Company have been redistributed amongst 2^nd Company, 3^rd Battalion, under Captain Dokos.  On the bright side, the Tau appear to be pulling out of planet Aurignac and the Imperial forces continue to conquer more and more of its surface.  “We will crush the enemies of the Imperium!”
