17 November 2010: Planet-fall on Scelus

17 November 2010:  The Uradeln 21st Regiment made planet-fall on Scelus after coming out of Warp Transit.  The Scelus Sub-sector is a lonely, isolated area of space on the western edge of the Eye of Terror.  Scelus was the home world of the Sons of Malice, a Renegade Space Marine Chapter that turned to Chaos after killing Celestian Inquisitorial troops and eating their Inquisitor. 

A cold, desolate place, Scelus was home to the savage and barbaric tribes from which the Sons of Malice recruited their number.  It is made up of jagged, blackened mountain ranges, with almost no moisture in the atmosphere at all.  A barren, rocky world whose meager population once eked out a precarious existence on the flanks of the more sheltered mountain ranges.
The native tribes were almost entirely eradicated by the Cadian 331^st in a planet-wide campaign of genocide after it was revealed that the grisly tendencies that led to the Sons of Malice’s excommunication was found to be rooted in the barbaric practices of the feral population. Yet some natives survived the wrath of the Cadians and now the Sons of Malice have returned to reclaim their planet, coinciding their attack with the 13th Black Crusade of Abaddon the Despoiler.
