11 September 2009: Opening actions on Aurignac

11 September 2009:  In a brilliant feint, elements of 3^rd Company, 3^rd Battalion under Captain Nave, along with a task force of Space Marine allies, distracted the witless Tau by conducting a diversionary landing west of the main landing of our Regiment on Aurignac.  Captain Nave, promoted since his service as a Lieutenant on planet Tergerus, performed well and our gallant forces inflicted heavy damage upon the puny Tau who had massed to oppose us, knocking out 3 of 4 tanks as well as killing many of the “warriors” and crisis battle suits that these cowardly weaklings employ while our soldiers suffered only light casualties.  The Space Marine task force was attacked by Kroot, foul cannibalistic beasts that are slaves of the Tau.  The Tau use these disgusting beasts because they themselves are so base and cowardly that they avoid close combat altogether.  After wiping out the Kroot and having deemed the Tau thoroughly distracted, the Imperial forces withdrew in disgust from the xenos scum in order to link up with the rest of the Regiment, which has landed unopposed.  A small band of loyalists, native humans of Aurignac, have told us the nature of the Tau enemy here.  These Tau call themselves Sha'kel.  They hail from the 4^th sphere of Tau expansion, and their home world is mountainous and icy.  It is little wonder why they prefer to live on this planet but we shall not suffer the alien to live.  Anywhere.  “An Open Mind is like a Fortress with its Gates Unbarred and Unguarded”
