24 June 2009:  2^nd Company, 1^st Battalion again faced a force of Chaos Marine “Iron Warriors” on the outskirts of Pumorn, having last ground down their assaults on 15 June.  Captain Herington fought gallantly and died in close combat against Khorne Berserkers.  Lieutenants Heise and Blanken likewise died heroically, though their platoons, 1^st and 2^nd, suffered only light casualties.  We inflicted moderate casualties on the Traitor Marines in turn but they managed to grab a Tome of Knowledge, which is filled with Eldar runes, from the ruins of a Librarium.  The Traitor Marines abandoned Pumorn after stealing this Tome.  Scouts report that the Iron Warriors were subsequently ambushed by the Eldar “Drache-Uten” but managed to slip some of their forces through to their own lines.  The fate of the Tome of Knowledge is unknown.  “Be vigilant and strong.  The Emperor knows what evil lurks in the vacillation of a weak fool”
