24 to 25 September 2010: Alpha Company, 3rd Battalion under Captain Kipton Burba, defending the approaches to the star port in Racon, capital city of Malis, annihilated another war band of orc dimwits who were unwittingly being prodded in our direction by eldar witches. Our ordnance proved its worth here, especially since the enemy were cowardly and seemed to not want to close with us. Consequently, we won an easy victory with minimal casualties.
The next day the star port was attacked again, this time by a huge force of chaos cultists and traitor PDF. Once again the men under Captain Burba’s command fought gallantly. 1st Platoon took heavy casualties and Commissar Dieter inspired the men as a true Commissar should: by fighting in the thick of it and dying gloriously in battle. Additional reinforcements were flown in to help defend the star port, but it was still a close run thing until 3rd Platoon, as well as a great deal of close air support, arrived to reinforce 2nd Platoon and the remnants of 1st. Commissar Dieter has been awarded the Valour Medal posthumously. "Pain is temporary, Honor is forever"
