12 and 21 March 2010: Creation of HUG Platoons and the marathon of slaughtered Cultists

12 and 21 March 2010:  Elements of Charlie Company, 2^nd Battalion, under newly promoted Captain Scherffius, blocked a Chaos Space Marine raiding party from reaching the populated Chenendoa Valley.  Our Las-Cannons knocked out the enemy tanks though they in turn were shot up and our ordnance mercilessly mowed down the Traitor Astartes.  This was the first battle in which one of our new Commissars, Lockwood, participated.  Using a revolutionary new tactic for our Infantry, we grouped five squads together into a “HUG Platoon” and surrounded and annihilated the charging Khorne Berserkers and an accompanying Chaos Lord. 

With Xenos and Chaos filth fleeing from Imperial forces all over the planet of Zarevok, the Uradeln 21^st Regiment has completed five days of rapid movement, mostly in our Chimeras and those borrowed from regiments in reserve.  On 21 March many of the Chimeras needed repairs; however, the Regiment deployed for a forced march over difficult terrain to chase down and annihilate a huge band of Chaos Cultists.  We chased them through desert and mountains for 26.2 miles, slaughtering them by the hundreds all along the way.  Just 2 miles before they could escape to their ships we rushed them, then sprinting to catch the last of them for the last 0.2 miles.  Only 58 of them escaped our righteous wrath out of several hundred!  “Pain is an illusion of the senses, despair is an illusion of the mind.”
